Key Priorities
There are many issues facing counties across the United States. I am running to elevate and find solutions to key issues plaguing our member counties. These issues include the following:
Affordable Housing
Everybody deserves to have suitable and affordable housing. This issue doesn't just affect the urban communities in our country, but also the rural and suburban communities as well.
Mental Health & Substance Misuse
Mental health affects many of our residents in our communities. It is important to have adequate resources to help those in need and to provide paths and opportunities for recovery.
Revenue Sharing &
Public Lands Management
Federal land, including our beautiful National Parks, generate revenue to the federal government. Counties that contain federal parks should receive portions of that revenue for providing services.
Workforce & Economic Development
An effective workforce is crucial for counties, especially when it comes to attracting key industries. It is important for counties to be equipped with the right resources to provide training and education.
Emergency Preparedness
Disasters can strike any time and in any community across this county. It's important for county leaders to be prepared to handle emergencies and to prepare the citizens of the communities in which they serve.
Fully Funding the PILT Program
It is important for counties with federal land to have certainty when it comes to the payments they receive in lieu of taxes. In regions where there is substantial federal land ownership, the PILT program's full funding is essential to the local government's ability to provide services.
Rural Development &
Broadband Access
Rural development and access to broadband is essential when it comes to infrastructure, connectivity and the delivery of services.
